1. In short
2. Data we process
- Your GPS location — used only in real time, on your device, to show where you are and compute routes. It is not stored, not sent to our servers, and never linked to your identity.
- Your roadwork reports — if you report an obstruction (type, street, description, optional photo), that information is published on the map to help other users. It identifies you only if you write your identity yourself.
- Your email — only if you subscribe to the newsletter or reserve an ad space. Used to answer you; never resold.
- Local preferences — language, display mode, button positions: stored in your browser (localStorage); they never leave your device.
3. Third-party services
To operate, the site queries specialized services, each with its own policy:
- Supabase (database hosting: ad campaigns, reports, pricing) — supabase.com/privacy
- TomTom (live traffic tiles) — tomtom.com/privacy
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim (map tiles and geocoding) — osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
- Open data from the City of Montréal and Gouvernement du Québec (official roadworks)
- Microsoft Clarity (anonymized usage analytics, if enabled) — clarity.microsoft.com/privacy
Your location is sent to none of these services: it is processed locally.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage for your preferences and the offline cache (service worker). No advertising cookies or third-party trackers are set.
5. Your rights
At any time you may: request access, correction or deletion of your reports or email; unsubscribe from the newsletter (link in every email); clear local data from your browser. For any request: confidentialite@mtltrafic.com — reply within 30 days.
6. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page with a new date. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
